Abu Dhabi Art 2015 - photo review

I didn't spend too much time at Abu Dhabi Art this year, but I did attend a few of the performances and talks. The art fair itself was a very bland affair, and if it weren't for the performances, I don't think I would have gone at all.

Here are some photos I took during the fair.

My favourites:

Video installation: Pipilotti Rist, Mercy Garden (from the Mercy Work Family), 2014

Performance: The Well by KorelessEmmanuel Biard

I absolutely loved this performance and was happy to see a full house before it started. But 20 minutes into the performance, I saw lots of people walking out and by the end, the auditorium was less than half full. I was dismayed. The art fair crowd is very fickle here.

Other highlights:

The obligatory horse art that always makes an appearance at art fairs in this part of the world

Farhad Ahrarnia at Lawrie Shabibi

Ilya Kabalov at Galerie Thaddeus Ropac

Pouran Jinchi, Untitled #2 (from The Blind Owl Series), 2013, at The Third Line

Performance: 55 by Radouan Mrziga
