Abu Dhabi Film Festival at The Pavilion - 10 Years of Emirates Film Competition

This month's Abu Dhabi Film Festival at The Pavilion film series will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Emirates Film Competition and will screen 10 short films from the EFC’s first decade of contributions to film culture in the Gulf region.

The Emirates Film Competition (EFC) launched in 2001 as the first and only film competition in the United Arab Emirates and GCC countries. It started off with the aim to support film production in the Gulf region and has evovled into a platform for local and regional filmmakers to showcase and share their work and experiences. Today, EFC is a key section of ADFF and continues to nurture local and regional talent while fostering the ongoing development of filmmaking and the film industry in the UAE.

Ten short films will be screened on the following dates at 9pm.

  • Wednesday, 17th August
  • Thursday, 18th August (a Q+A session with some of the directors will take place after the screening)
  • Friday, 19th August
