Hrithik Roshan YouTube Rabbit Hole

Hrithik Roshan, Vikram Vedha, 2022

I’ve been on a Hrithik Roshan YouTube rabbit hole after watching him in Vikram Vedha at the cinema yesterday.

The film is a Hindi language remake of the 2017 Tamil version of Vikram Vedha, by the same directors, Pushkar–Gayathri.

This dance scene is a bit out of character compared to Hrithik Roshan’s Vedha in the rest of the film, where he is a lot more sombre and cunning.

But since he stars in it, I guess it was expected his dance skills would be featured.

When I got back home, I started searching online for his other dance scenes in films, and below are two which I can’t stop watching, both choreographed by Bosco-Caesar. Sadly, I’ve not watched either film, and if they get re-released, these scenes alone are worth the ticket price.

I want to add that it’s not just about Hrithik’s dancing and the choreography, but it’s also about the set design, cinematography and editing. And wind machines. Thanks to Indian cinema for keeping musicals alive (also see this post).

Tu Meri from Bank Bang! (Siddharth Anand, 2014)

Katrina Kaif clearly trying to keep up with Roshan’s moves in this.

Jai Jai Shivshankar from War (Siddharth Anand, 2019)

Hrithik’s entry at the 43rd second is so damn cool, and extra hotness points for the short hair and stubble beard (made me think of Frank Grillo). He still has the better moves, despite being paired with Tiger Shroff, a younger counterpart. I want to see this scene in a cinema!

I’m now wishing for a musical starring Hrithik Roshan and Channing Tatum.
