London Surf / Film Festival 2011
The London Surf / Film Festival is London's first film festival dedicated to surf culture. It will run from 13th-15th October at Riverside Studios and will "celebrate the cream of contemporary surf culture showcasing international surfing's hottest releases, award winning documentaries, independent features and UK Premieres alongside the best short film productions from Britain and Ireland's leading surf filmmakers".
Alongside the festival will be a pop up gallery at the festival venue from 1st-15th October. The mixed media art exhibition will "capture iconic moments of British waveriding history and celebrate what it means to be a surfer while blowing the lid off common perceptions of what ‘surf art’ is all about."
The festival is brought to us by we are the fold, a collective of surfers writers, photographers and cultural commentators dedicated to preserving and communicating the spirit of surfing. I want to knock on their door and ask if I can be their friend.
