Everyone loves a good story and at the upcoming Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, there will be an event called Story Night, taking place on 12th March.

Organised by Siobhan Leyden from Dubai Eye 103.8, Story Night will feature a variety of story tellers sharing a mix of travel tales, of growing up in small towns, of acting on a conscious to change perceptions when the world seemed to react against you and many more.

The story tellers include a rapper and comedian from Djibouti, a publisher, a film maker, an academic  to name a few, and more people are signing up (if you want to be a story teller, send an email  to storytellingdubai[at]gmail[dot]com).

Event details
Date: 12th March, 8pm
Location: Belgian Cafe, Crowne Plaza, Dubai Festival City
There is no entrance fee, but you need to confirm your attendance because space is limited. RSVP.

Siobhan Leyden is also inviting everyone on Twitter to be part of an online story writing experiment. If you are on Twitter follow @SiobhanLive, search for #StoryNight to see the posts so far and start adding to the story. Make sure you include #StoryNight in your tweet so that it appears in the StoryNight search results.

The first line was posted yesterday and you can keep adding to the story till 12th Mar. All the contributions will be read as one tale on Story Night. It will be interesting to see how this story develops in real time over the next few days. Contributions so far can be read here.
