It’s been six months since David Lynch brought back his (almost daily) weather report video. He used to do this frequently between the early-mid 2000s.
Philip Brubaker blended the videos from the month of May and created a beautiful and dreamy collage video, reflecting on how the days and even months feels compressed for many of us since the pandemic started.
In May 2020, David Lynch resumed his tradition of daily weather reports on his YouTube channel. This moving painting collages all of his posts during quarantine for that month. Lynch's gesture to turn and look out his window was a constant for his COVID-19 weather updates.
The sunlight illuminates his face each time, and the layering of one video onto another reflects the blurring of time during the pandemic, where the days all blend together.
