New Event: Visual Culture Club at Hobb

Please join me on Sunday, March 31 for a new (and hopefully a regular) called Visual Culture Club, hosted by me at Hobb, a design and visual culture focused bookstore in Dubai.

Its founder, Haifa Malhas and I have been talking about working on something together for a while and I’m glad she agreed to this. The aim is to bring together a small group of people to have a fun and thoughtful discussion about images.

Visual Culture Club
Sunday, March 31 - 8.00pm-9.00pm

Visual Culture Club is a new community event to look and talk about an image that stood out for you recently. It could be a photo, a poster, an illustration, a billboard ad, a film still, a post on social media - any image that made you look twice.

Bring your image printed on paper (or print it at Hobb) to have a group discussion about why it stood out for you, and what kind of images make us pause in an age of visual overstimulation.

An exercise to look at and touch an image on paper, and a break from scrolling on digital screens.

Free to attend. Register here.
